The shepherds give us a splendid example of what it means to spread the joy of Christ. They had no formal training, nor did they need any. Their message was simple and straightforward. "They spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child" (Luke 2:17).
The way the shepherds shared what they had experienced, what they had seen and heard, seems to be the best model for us today. Of course, we're not going to be exactly like the shepherds. But you get the point. Sharing the joy of Christ simply requires of us to say, “This is what I’ve seen. This is what I’ve heard. This is how Jesus has changed my life.”
