Sermon: 2 Peter 1:3-15

I don’t think I’m wrong when I say I believe we all long for a life that matters, a life of depth, purpose, and meaning. Well, today, we’re going to get into a passage that doesn't just answer that longing—but it blows the doors off the hinges. We’re in 2 Peter today, a letter that, honestly, doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. It’s nestled between the more popular 1 Peter and John’s letters, and I think part of why it’s often overlooked is that it can make us a bit uncomfortable. Peter isn’t offering us gentle encouragement here; he’s giving us a serious challenge. He’s calling the church to stop settling for mediocrity, to refuse to be content with just surviving in our faith.
