Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well is a great example of what it means to reach others with real compassion and intentionality. He doesn’t wait for her to come to Him; instead, He meets her at her well and steps into her world, sees her struggles, and meets her with truth and grace.
This encounter challenges us to engage with the people we see and meet everyday differently and beyond the surface-level interactions, but step into the lives of those around us and embody the love of Christ where it’s most needed. The encounter in John 4 with Jesus and the women at the well challenges us to let go of comfort and convenience and to go where people are, offering them the living water that only Jesus provides.
